A CHRISTMAS TELEPHONE

I wish I had a telephone
With golden wires unfurl'd,
And long enough and strong enough
To reach around the world‚-
I'd ring up everybody
Along the line and say,
"A very Merry Christmas
To you this Christmas Day!"
